Theirs is an interesting journey the elder brother Puranchand Wadali, was a regular in an akhara (wrestling house) for 25 years, can you believe this?
While the younger Wadali - Pyarelal Wadali was struggling hard to make the two ends meet by playing the role of Lord Krishna in the village Rasleela.
Now the Wadali Brothers are together making a remarkable contribution to the Indian Sufi music scene. Puranchand Wadali was awarded the Padma Shri award by the Government of India, 2005.
Way back in August 2009 Wadali Brothers also appeared on Lil Champs 2009. There Sh. Puranchand Wadali quirpped, "Ganaa gana bhi kushti ki tarah hai...jaisse kushti zor se karte hain waisse he gana bhi zor se gana padta hai." Wadalis were there to judge the little champs for Qawwali singing.
In the words of Ushad Pyarelal Wadali ji, "Gana toh Isshwar ka ek rup hai, jisko Isshwar ko dekhna ho woh swar ki pehchaan karr le...kyunki swar ka aur Isshwar ka rup ek hai"
