Bakri-Id is a festival of sacrifice. It is celebrated in honor of Prophet Ibrahim’s belief in God as he agreed to sacrifice his own beloved son at God's order.

Therefore, the sacrifice of goat or Bakr in Urdu is a tradition on Bakrid festival. After cutting the goat, the meat is divided into three equal parts, the first part is given to poor & needy people, the second part is distributed among relatives & and the third part in the family. In this way, Bakrid festival is a perfect example of brotherhood & giving.

On the occasion of Bakrid, the prices of goats go North & there is a huge demand for goats in the market.
